Gary Daish

Principal

As a qualified Certified Practising Accountant and Principal of the firm, Gary established Accrue Accounting (Formerly known as Crowe Daish & Associates, and more recently Daish Harrop) in early 2002 with a view to providing a niche service for small business owners & individuals looking to maximize their wealth, through various forms of investment tax structures. Over the past 10 years the success of the firm has been founded on delivering ongoing personalized and cost effective services which are afforded to each and every client of the firm. In all, Gary has been in public practice for 18 years and prior to that was employed with the ATO as an auditor & advisor. The knowledge & experience gained over that period enables Gary to provide clients with valuable input when  establishing their business, day to day management of their business, and effective strategies in relation to tax, finance, & investment.

Gary sees himself as a businessman first, it just so happens his business is accounting & finance.  Gary is all too familiar with day to day issues confronting small business. His ability to put himself ‘in his client’s shoes’ has ensured successful outcomes for any number of his small business clients – some of whom have been clients for more than a decade.  He says his personal goal is “to make sure that clients feel that our firm helped them with their goals, both financial and personal, not just that we helped them save some tax”. The greatest satisfaction Gary feels in public practice, is in delivering a service that results in clients achieving their goals & ultimately ensuring their financial future.

Gary has extensive experience in many areas of public accounting, with expertise in taxation advice and planning, business structuring and development, self managed superannuation, finance in the form of home loans, investment loans, vehicle & equipment leasing, and general management advice. His large portfolio of clients stretch across a wide range of industries and he attributes the success of the firm to their ability to recruit and retain quality staff. Gary says, “We invest in our people so our clients have access to technically sound advice from professional people who care about their success”. Gary takes great pride in his team, and has confidence that they have the skills to deliver the required outcomes for clients. The practice whilst maintaining a professional atmosphere, also recognizes the need to make the workplace an enjoyable one, as he says “a bit of humor goes a long way in the serious business of accounting”.

Specialties and Niches

Gary has special interest in start up businesses, and understands the specific needs & crucial issues that prospective businesses need to address. As with most things, it is the foundation that will usually determine the success or failure of a business. Wealth creation & tax planning through superannuation & property structures is another area in which Gary has specialized. Furthermore, Gary through his horse racing background, has gained substantial knowledge of the industry & provides advice to a number of trainers & breeders in that industry.

Outside of Work

Gary loves horses & horse racing, his family has had a long involvement with horses for generations. Accordingly, Gary has been a member of the Victorian Racing Club (VRC) for 12 years.  Gary also participates as a racehorse owner & has just recently become involved with breeding side of the industry. Other interests include relaxing on the golf course & the garden.

Gayle Daish

Office Manager / Accounts

Gayle has been working in the practice for 3 years now. She undertakes numerous tasks including, phone reception, work flow management, client management, & accounts receivable. Gayle brings a wealth of experience from roles in the banking & industrial sectors, where she had extensive experience in HR & middle management. Gayle is extremely organized and reliable, she has been a great asset to the practice.

 Outside of Work

Outside the office Gayle enjoys spending time in the garden, yoga, reading, watching movies & catching up with friends for morning teas. Gayle also spends much time with her mother, who is now in need of care.

Czarina Caolboy

Accountant

Czarina has been working with Accrue Accounting for over 4 years. Czarina is a qualified accountant, & brings with her experience from previous work in other small to medium accounting practices. Her primary role with Accrue Accounting is to assist in the account preparation for Business & Self Managed Super Fund clients. She processes transactions, reconciles accounts, & prepares Financial Statements, Tax Returns, & BAS’s.

Outside of work

Czarina has a young family which keeps her very busy. She enjoys the outdoors, in particular getting to the alps for some snow-boarding, playing volleyball, bike riding with her family, & catching up with friends.
